A wonderful French model of a wonderful french prototype.
Rami models were made in France, from the 1950s, into the 1970s. This model, of an
1878 Amédée Bollée “La Mancelle”came out in 1966. If you consider steam cars to be cars, then this was the first series production car in history. 50 were built. It featured a primitive form of independent front suspension too, where the “A arms” were made of leaf springs. A form that surprisingly was used for way too long - DKWs, Mercedes, and finally Trabants used a variant where the lower A arms were solid, but the uppers were leaf springs.
